SGEMI  Ministry To Breast Cancer Patients, Family and Survivors

As so many of you are aware, our Co-Founder, Sandy was diagnosed with a particularly aggressive and (previously) inoperable form of breast cancer in March of 2013. Through her experience, and our own firsthand pastoral care, now on the receiving end of care, we have established this new area of ministry to assist others who are diagnosed with this disease, and offer to share prayers and encouragement as you and your family and loved ones recover from this.

We are pleased to report that Sandy is now confirmed as:

CANCER FREE AND RELEASED FROM WEEKLY OBSERVATION! ONLY PERIODIC CHECKUPS REQUIRED. SANDY HAS RETURNED TO HER NORMAL ACTIVITIES AND FEELS BETTER THAN EVER. THANK YOU ALL.

LIFE IS GOOD! GOD IS GREAT!!

Let us share with you our experiences and offer hope, help and assistance as you too no doubt have the same fears, apprehensions and anxiety as we also did.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK OR WRITE WITH US REGARDING BREAST CANCER PLEASE SEND A NOTE HERE AND WE WILL RETURN YOUR EMAIL OR PHONE CALL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
                                           EMAIL US HERE

Be sure to write BREAST CANCER in the subject line and Sandy will respond as soon as possible

WE ARE ECSTATIC TO REPORT THAT AS OF 5:00PM FRIDAY, AUGUST 16TH WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY HER TEAM OF DOCTORS THAT SANDY HAS NO TRACE OF CANCER LEFT ANYWHERE IN HER BODY. SHE WENT FROM HAVING INVASIVE, AGGRESSIVE AND INOPERABLE CANCER IN MARCH TO COMPLETELY CANCER FREE TODAY.

WE THANK HER WONDERFUL DOCTORS, STAFF AND NURSES WHO LOVINGLY TREATED HER, BUT ALL GLORY HONOR AND PRAISE GOES TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST FOR A COMPLETE CURE OF THIS TERRIBLE DISEASE. MORE INFORMATION WILL FOLLOW AS WE CONTINUE TO ABSORB ALL THE DOCTOR REPORTS WE ARE BEING OVERWHELMED WITH. PLEASE ALLOW US A FEW DAYS TO TAKE THIS ALL IN AND GIVE PRAYERS OF THANKS TO GOD. A DETAILED ACCOUNT OF HER ORDEAL IS BEING PREPARED AND WILL BE GIVEN AWAY FOR FREE TO ANYONE WHO FACES THIS TERRIBLE DISEASE.

Please Note: We left the following post here on this page. This was posted when she was first diagnosed and we thought it would be beneficial for others who are diagnosed to see how she felt and the emotions she went through when she heard of her diagnosis. Now that she is cured, we have started a new ministry called Pink Ribbon Road, a ministry geared towards women diagnosed with breast cancer.  Please click on the link to the left of this page for more information on that ministry.

Dear Friends,

Please keep my wife, ministry partner and best friend, Sandy in your prayers. After a lifetime of caring for others in our nursing home and hospice ministry, as well as our Visiting Chaplain's Association, and holding the hands of so many who have passed from this life to the next, it is she who is now in need of the same prayers that she prayed for so many others.

In mid March, 2013 she was diagnosed with a particularly aggressive and large tumor in her chest and subsequent tests proved our worst fears, it is cancer.

She is facing this head on, is in great spirits, has an unshakable faith and determination to overcome her latest challenge and is as positive and upbeat as one can be when facing this most difficult of obstacles.

Although the tumor is currently inoperable due to size and location, the doctors are optimistic that they can shrink it enough to allow surgery to remove it later in the summer.

Friends, this will mean that we may be delayed in responding to your emails, phone calls and prayer requests, as well as delayed in getting the things you requested in as timely a manner as we have been in the past. We know you understand, and we appreciate your patience.

She will begin treatment in the coming few days, and although it will be difficult, she assures me that she will fight with all her strength, and if she stumbles she knows The Lord will lift her up.

Please keep her in your prayers. As you are always in hers.

We will post often on our blog or update here as she begins her road to recovery from this terrible disease.  And she promises us all that she will overcome this, with God's help.

Amen and Amen!

Please sign the guest book for Sandy. She will respond as soon as possible.
