               When Disaster Strikes-
What will you do? Where will you go?

NOTE: We will be closing the door on this opportunity shortly. We are nearing a point where we can not handle more networked ministries. Once we complete our network, this page will be removed.

Ok, you see what is going on in the world around you. You have heeded the warnings. You have listened to your 'gut instinct' that something is terribly wrong in the world.

You stockpiled food, water and provisions for your family. You have a 'bug out bag' with 3 days of essentials for each family member. You keep one car fully gassed up at all time. You have thought of everything you could possibly think of to become self reliant when the 'you know what hits the fan...'

You pray that you will never need to test your preparedness in a real life situation. You're ready, right?

What happens if your house and supplies are suddenly underwater, such as in Hurricane Katrina? Or a Tsunami? Or your area is hit with an earthquake? Or fire? Or civil unrest? Or roving gangs loot your property? What if a disaster is so widespread that you have little chance of survival by staying hunkered down in your 'safehouse'?

My Christian brothers and sisters, if your house, where all of your provisions are stored, is destroyed or unaccessible, so are your life saving provisions. Then what do you do?

Or perhaps, you managed to escape with a van load of food and your family, and you managed to elude the thugs who would just as soon shoot you and take what is yours.  Then what? Gas stations are closed, your food soon runs low, and panic begins to set in. You have nowhere to go, provisions and options are running out. What now?

There is a song that was popular years ago, and one of the lines went something like this:

"Lean on me, when you're not strong, and I'll give you strength to carry on...you just call on me brother when you need a hand..."

We are building a nationwide network of likeminded, affiliated independent ministries and 'people of good will'; Christian brothers and sisters, families who will pitch in and come to the aid of other Christian families in times of natural or man made disasters, who agree that in times of civil unrest, or calamity, will provide temporary shelter and food and provide comfort and security until such time as our brethren are able to continue in their journey to wherever it is they are heading or until it is safe for them to return to their homes. Remember what happened in The Superdome during Hurricane Katrina? Do you want to end up there? Or in a FEMA trailer camp? Or would you rather be with other Christian brethren in peace, safety and security?

How does this work?

You must be a registered member of SGEMI, or a member of another ministry that has agreed to partner with us in this project (list of partnering ministries available soon). This way, we already know who you are, and we have built up a trust. And our other members know who you are through our posting board.  As much as we may like, we can't help every person or family who would need assistance in times of disaster. But we can help 'our own' so to speak.

When a calamity strikes an area, we will send out a notice on our posting board as quickly as possible to alert the membership or associated ministries of an immediate need. We will then attempt to contact the members in need and give them instructions on how to get out of the danger zone and where to meet.  From that point on, we will proceed accordingly, providing shelter, food and necessities until it is safe to return home or travel further, whichever you decide.

Our members all agree to be a 'safe harbor' for our Christian brothers and sisters, and likewise, you too agree to be a 'safe harbor' as well. This is the only way we can build a nationwide network quickly and efficiently.

To become a member or affiliated ministry, click on the link to the left of the page. All the information is provided on that page. IT IS FREE TO BECOME A MEMBER. But all members are 'vetted' for security reasons.

Other independent ministries who also wish to join this project are welcome to inquire.

There is strength in numbers. You do not have to 'go it alone' when disaster strikes.
(Below: Actual Lyrics to Lean On Me, by request of several members):

Songwriter: Bill Withers

Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tommorow

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won't let show

You just call on me brother, when you need a hand (Chorus)
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean on

Second Verse
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

You just call on me brother, when you need a hand (Chorus)
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean on

If there is a load you need to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load
If you just call me

Call me (if you need a friend)
Call me (Call me)
Call me (if you need a friend)
Call me (if you ever need a friend)
Call me (Call me)
Call me
Call me (if you need a friend)
